Victor Castillo served as an instructor of Administration of Justice and Chair of
Legal Studies. He first connected with West Valley College as a guest speaker in 2012
when he was a deputy probation officer working with juveniles and a member of San
Mateo County’s gang task force. In Fall 2013, he was hired as an associate faculty
member and became a full-time Administration of Justice faculty in 2017. Victor was
not only an amazing instructor but also a mentor, a guide, and a source of inspiration
for students and colleagues alike. For ten years, he supported students outside of
the classroom as Puente Program mentor. Victor will be warmly remembered for his passion
for teaching, advocacy for social justice, dedication to his students, and vibrant
presence in the West Valley College academic community.
This endowment supports a scholarship for a West Valley College student majoring in
Administration of Justice. Preference is given to student participants of the Puente
Program.
