About this Endowment
The James & Vincee Viso Family Family Student Engagement Center was established by
James "Jim" Viso in 2018.
Jim was born in San Jose, CA on February 14, 1930. The son of the late Charles S.
and Jessie D. Viso, he grew up in Santa Clara, CA and graduated from Lincoln High
School. In 1949, Jim married Vincee, the love of his life, after eloping with her
at the age of seventeen. Jim found his start bagging goceries at his family's local
market in Santa Clara, after which he went on to become a businessman, owning both
James J. Viso Engineering and El Camino Self Storage. Jim was also a former mayor
and councilman of Santa Clara, with the Viso Court in the city being named after him.
Jim and Vincee shared 62 beautiful years together and have raised six children during
that time. Jim and Vincee are currently survived by their children, Charles, Maggie,
Jessica, Vanessa, Joseph, and Jason. They are also survived by their grandchildren
Ashley, Victoria, James, CJ, Jeff, Greg, Tyler, Travis Smith, Vincent, Travis Kull,
Erich, and Enzo, as well as ten great-grandchildren.
