Members of the Finley family have resided in the towns of Saratoga and Los Gatos since
the mid-1960s, spanning four generations. From grandparents who bought an old gas
station on Santa Cruz Avenue in Los Gatos to start a real estate business to their
decendents of engineers, accountants, insurance agents, antique dealers, car tire
business enterpreneurs, writers, community volunteers, children who grew up here,
students who attended Los Gatos, Saratoga, and Lynbrook High Schools.
As a family, we have watched our valley transform, seemingly overnight, from fruit
orchards to computer start-ups. We treasure the orchard-turned-tech towns and communities
that have shaped our lives, our opportunities, and our futures. We feel truly blessed
that we have been given much and would like to support the next generation.
We establish this scholarship with fond memories of the place we have called home
for over half a century, a place we value with gratitude and appreciation, and in
the hope that this scholarship will empower future generations of students to learn
and thrive, take pride in our heritage, and honor the legacy of those who have gone
before us to deliver to us the unique, endearing, and special location we cherish
today.
