Dr. Robles began her career with the District in 1981, joining the English and ESL
faculty at West Valley College. She taught for 11 years and then moved into administration,
serving as Matriculation Coordinator, Assistant Dean of Instruction and Matriculation,
and interim Vice President of Instruction. In 2003, she moved to Mission College as
Vice President of Instruction, became interim President in 2006, and was selected
as President in 2007. She took a strong interest in research to improve student learnin
gand teaching, serving as president of the resaerach and Planning Group for California
Community Colleges. In addition, she taught graduate studies in higher education and
leadership at Santa Clara University and Fielding Graduate University. Dr. Robles
earned her BA in Comparative Literature from Occidental College, her MA in Comparative
Literature from the University of California, Berkeley, and her EdD in Educational
Leaership and Change from Fielding Graduate University. Grateful for her educational
opportunities and the years she spent working with and learning from students, she
hopes this endowment will provide WVM students with their own opportunities to achieve
their educational and professional goals.
