GO OUT AND CHANGE THE WORLD…
These are words that Brian J. Tramontana said often as encouragement to others, but they were also words he lived by.
The Brian J. Tramontana Scholarship Endowment has been established to help West Valley Photography students continue their studies and follow their dreams and passions.
Brian’s love of photography, and helping others, went full circle at West Valley. In the late 1970s Brian enrolled in photography classes at West Valley, and in 2004 he returned to West Valley as a Photography Instructor and went on to become the Department Chair.
After taking all the photography classes West Valley had to offer, Brian continued on to Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Photography.
After returning to the Bay Area, Brian became a member of the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) Team in Palo Alto, CA. These were exciting years, and Brian was an integral part of the Technology boom.
While teaching at WVC, Brian was involved with other photography endeavors:
Through his love of people, photography and life, Brian helped change the world and through this scholarship foundation his legacy will continue.
