About this Endowment

This endowment supports a scholarship for a Mission College CalWORKs student.

Bob started working as a part-time counselor at Mission College in 1992. At the same time, he was working full-time for the County of Santa Clara as a counselor in the CALWORKs Program. He left the County in 2001 and became a full-time counselor at Mission College. In 2002, he added on to his duties by becoming the counselor for Mission's CALWORKs Program, where he continued at this job for fourteen years. After twelve years with Santa Clara County and another fourteen years at Mission, CALWORKs students are special to him. Since there was no specific scholarship for this deserving population of the student body, Bob decided to help them out by establishing the Bob Miller CALWORKs Scholarship Endowment. During his time as a counselor, Bob also served as the Counseling Department Chair for eight years. Moreover, Bob founded the Sustainability Committee and served on many other committees and hiring groups as a Veteran's Counselor and an administrator for several years. Bob retired from counseling in 2017; however, his love for Mission made him return as an emeritus faculty part-time counselor.
